The new Student Hotel in central Berlin has just opened its doors for business as the first of a number of new hotels in the chain going across Europe.

The Student Hotel chose K4B for the design and implementation of a custom designed complete check-in desk for volume self service customer check-in. The design had to to complement the interior design and infrastructure of the new hotel.

The Check-in desk comprises a newly designed Pulsar desktop kiosk with custom integration plate housing a passport scanner, RFID encoder for door keys and a receipt printer. The payment device chip and pin is mounted into the front face of the Pulsar. The LED edge lighting of the kiosk is adjustable and / or computer controllable as is the RFID encoder lighting (to convey to the customer when to encode the door key). The encoder, passport scanner and printer are inset in to the integration plate to make the whole desk look really cool. The K4B designed check-in desk is designed and built for volume use and to be enticing to view and use for customers of all ages and technology abilities.
